““The Prism Tarot by Liz Landis was on my wishlist the moment I saw all of its rainbow yumminess. Rainbow is my legit favorite color, and I love everything it means.
However, as I’ve been working with the deck I’ve found that it is quite a bit more than a pretty deck. This Prism is a heavy hitter. Each and every human in the deck is a thin prism reflecting what we think we know right back to us, bending knowledge a bit, adding layers to it. Astrological influences are on every card, and Liz kindly provides an astrological map for us.
I’m not the most versed person in astrology. I joke that I can order from the menu and get my horoscope just fine, but I don’t speak the language at all. While navigating this deck I didn’t feel the lack of knowledge, I felt the invitation to learn more and to make note of things even if I don’t know yet what they mean.
It’s a satisfying deck to work with, alone and paired with others.
I’ve spent more time reading and researching prisms while working with this deck than I ever have in my life. Liz includes a bit about that, and her intentions with this deck, in her lwb.
Most of the time that I work with this deck I feel like bringing out my stone folk. Today was labradorite, and I brought out all of my big pieces. I wonder if they’re speaking the same language, these stones and these cards. It’s the strangest thing. I speak Tarot (fluently) and I speak Stone (very well) and these cards read like stone.
There’s a firmness to them, a sharpness, a resonate voice that speaks truth and I am having the best time trying to work that out.”
