Princess/Transformer of Pentacles
The Princess of Pentacles stands gracefully in tree pose upon the center of the flower which blooms at the top of the stalk from the Ace. They are fully balanced and stable as they cradle the power of the Pentacle in their hands. The seed of earth comes to full bloom around them. Its pollen spreads throughout the universe and promotes new life. The full moon behind them represents their fully realized power. In the Hermetic Tarot this card is known as the “Princess of the Echoing Hills.”
Princesses are ruled by the element of Earth. They are stable, powerful, pure, and complete. They serve as the vessel, inheritor, and guardian of the elemental energy that was born from the ace. Where the Ace of Pentacles was the latent potential of the suit, the Princess is its fully realized power overgrowing. They represent human potential and the fully expressed power of their suit.
In a reading, this card asks you to reflect on your material, financial, and human potential. What can you do to fully cultivate it? Rather than a specific person, it represents a complete state of being in regards to growth, fertility, prosperity, and practicality. It’s an indicator that you are on the right path towards that state, and an invitation to push yourself even further. Open yourself up fully to living in reality, your sensuality, your connection to nature and what it means to be human. Trust yourself and do what is best for your material wellbeing. Never be complacent. The pursuit for more should never end, even the full moon eventually wanes.
The reversed may represent untapped and/or disregarded potential. Lack of practicality and self-discipline may be stifling your growth and holding you back from your full potential. You may be neglecting your material and physical needs. Perhaps you need to re-establish your connection to nature, humanity and yourself. On the other hand, it may indicate the materialistic part of yourself is out of control and needs to be reigned in and stabilized.
