Princess/Transformer of Swords
The Princess of Swords gently places the crown of victory and clarity upon the Sword of the Ace. They remain in perfect alignment while floating among the air and clouds. The full moon behind them represents their fully realized power. In the Hermetic Tarot this card is known as the “Princess of the Rushing Winds .”
Princesses are ruled by the element of Earth. They are stable, powerful, pure, and complete. They serve as the vessel, inheritor, and guardian of the elemental energy that was born from the ace. Where the Ace of Swords was the latent potential of the suit, the Princess is its fully realized power strengthened by clarity. They represent human potential and the fully expressed power of their suit.
In a reading, this card asks you to reflect on your mental and intellectual potential. What can you do to fully cultivate it? Rather than a specific person, it represents a complete state of being in regards to truth, wisdom, communication, and intelligence. It’s an indicator that you are on the right path towards that state, and an invitation to push yourself even further. Open yourself up fully to the true power of your mind. Be open to new ideas and ways of thinking. Trust yourself and release the patterns of thought that hold you back. Act with moral conviction and always live your truth. Never be complacent. The pursuit for more should never end, even the full moon eventually wanes.
The reversed may represent untapped and/or disregarded potential. Your thoughts and actions may not be in alignment. Either you act before thinking or think without acting. It may also indicated that you are neglecting your need to express yourself. Perhaps you need to re-connect to your truth. On the other hand, it may indicate that the ways you express yourself and communicate are out of control and need to be reigned in and stabilized.
